Preparing for his first year in racing, Gordon participated in three training events during the final months of 2021. Gordon first completed a three-day introductory course in a Mygale Formula 4 car hosted by Skip Barber Racing School at New Jersey Motorsports Park. One month following his experience in the Formula 4 car, he would continue to complete an introductory course at Sebring, held by Lucas Oil Racing School. Finally, Gordon would travel once more to Sebring to participate in the Lucas Oil Racing School’s advanced course. Upon completion of the event, he would be eligible to receive his SCCA license, preparing him for the season ahead.
In 2022, Gordon Scully made his motor racing debut, impressively holding his own against seasoned competitors. Starting with the SCCA event at Homestead Miami Speedway, he showcased his adaptability by navigating challenging conditions at Sebring International Speedway. His prowess was evident with podium finishes at Road Atlanta and a commendable performance at Road America’s June Sprints. Venturing into endurance racing, Gordon joined team W2W for the World Racing League series, pushing a Porsche Cayman GT4 to its limits at NOLA Motorsports Park and securing third at Daytona’s grueling fourteen-hour race. His consistent performances in the Formula Race Promotions and the Lucas Oil Racing School’s championship series, where he secured multiple podium finishes, solidified his reputation as a rising star in his debut year.
